Nolensville Church Organizes Community Service Day, Learn How You Can Help

The Village

The Village Church, in Nolensville, invites the community to join them in a community service project on Sunday, July 31st.

In lieu of meeting for a typical worship gathering, the congregation and fellow community members will complete various service projects in the area.

All projects are family friendly, and there will be something for everyone (kids included) to help out with. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite friends in your neighborhood to join.

It all takes place on July 31st 8:30a-12:30p. You will meet at Sunset Middle School, 200 Sunset Trail. You do not have to be a member of The Village Church to participate in this community service day. Anyone and everyone is welcome.

The community projects include:

1.) Shayne Elementary and Oliver Middle School Grounds Clean Up and Beautification:
In need of at least 100 volunteers to help serve local schools. Shayne Elementary and Oliver Middle serve many of the children in Nolensville and The Village Church wants to help each school welcome their students on the first day of school with a beautiful place to learn and grow. While the schools receive some grounds help from the school district, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done before the school year begins. This is a great way to help provide a positive environment the children are excited to enter every morning.

Tasks will include: weeding, mulching, grounds clean up, pressure washing, and hedge trimming.

2.) Stop Hunger Now/Fast.Pray.Give Meal Packaging:
In need of at least 100 volunteers to help package 10,000 nutrient-rich meals for Fast.Pray.Give and Stop Hunger Now, that will be distributed to undernourished children and families around the globe. Every year, Stop Hunger Now has provided millions of nutritious meals and other life-saving aid to children and families all over the world.

Volunteers will: measure, seal and package the food bags, and prepare them for shipment.

3.) Stuffing Backpacks with Supplies for Local Schools
In need of 25 volunteers to help stuff backpacks with much needed school supplies for teachers and students in the area.

Volunteers will: sort, stuff, and prepare the backpacks with age appropriate supplies.
