The 700 foot connection from the established Peter Jenkins Walking Trail to Allendale Elementary is complete. Alderman Jonathan Duda, has been campaigning a long time to see this result. “This ‘small’ project is just the first step of a larger vision for Spring Hill’s Master Greenways Plan,” he said.

“This means that children will have the option to walk or bike to school, resulting in decreased traffic volume and increased physical activity,” continued Duda. This is a paved concrete connection to a 5 foot wide sidewalk leading to the school. In the future the trail will connect to other schools neighborhoods and recreation centers, eventually joining a regional greenways plan.

The new pathway provides access to almost 1900 residential units in four subdivisions and was estimated to cost $50,000.

Currently the ribbon cutting is scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 6th at the connection point between Wyngate Estates and Allendale Elementary.

The school is located at 2100 Prescott Way.
