Tennessee Soccer Club Sends Teams to Region Championships

More than 200 of the top U.S. boys and girls youth soccer teams have gathered at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, South Carolina, for the weekend-long U.S. Youth Soccer Region III Championships.

Seven teams from the Tennessee Soccer Club, based out of Williamson County, have made the trip for the tournament. They make up part of the 12 state associations that make up the region.

The preliminary play started Thursday, with the TSC U18 boys team losing 1-0 to KSA 98 Premiere out of Georgia and the U18 girls team beating 97 TFCA Alliance out of North Carolina by a 3-1 score. The quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be held June 27-30.

On the boys’ side, the TSC U18 team is joined by the U13 team. The girls’ side of TSC is represented by the U13, U14, U16, U17 and U18 teams.

Regional winners of the U13 through U19 age groups earn a berth to the 2016 U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships, held at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas, from July 25-31.
