Summit Falls to Page

Williamson County Football

By: Amber Pennycuff

The crowd was alive tonight at Summit, as the Patriots took a 27-7 win over the Spartans.

Page had two touchdowns within the first quarter of the game, bringing the score 14-0 for the Patriots.  Igniting the second, Page’s Mason Foley had a 43-yard field goal with 6:04 left in the half (17-0).

The Patriots took a time-out with less than three minutes left in the second to let the clock roll.

Summit’s Marc Hughes was on the sack to stop Page from scoring the rest of the first half, after Page kicked to bring the score 20-0 at halftime.

Back from halftime, Page’s Zak Mizell had a touchdown with 3:47 left in the third (27-0).  Summit’s Chase Austin responded right back as he scored the Spartans only touchdown of the night (27-7).

In the fourth, the Officials had a controversial call on which “down” it was on the field and ruled it was third, not fourth, with only minutes remaining in the game.  Both teams struggled to take possession of the ball and get into the end zone throughout the rest of the night.

Summit will travel to Independence next week and kick-off at 7 p.m.

Page will make its way to Marshall County next Friday and kick-off at 7 p.m., as well.

Williamson Source will keep you updated on both schools throughout the rest of the season!
