Summit Can’t Contain Stewarts Creek in Crucial Region Tilt

Tre Bailiez rushed for 126 yards on 15 carries and scored three touchdowns, leading Stewarts Creek to a 38-13 win over visiting Summit.

Bailiez’s first two TDs came on passes of 33 and 29 yards from Ryan Harraway. His final TD came on a 25-yard run in the second half.

Tayne Davis and TJ Mangrum added one touchdown apiece for the Red Hawks (5-4, 4-2 Region 5-5A), who ended a two-game skid.

Spartans running back Tai Carter, who broke the 1,000-yard milestone last week, was held to 55 rushing yards on 10 carries.

Summit (6-3, 4-2), Stewarts Creek and Shelbyville enter next week’s regular-season finale tied for second.

Tyler Palmer scored both of the Spartans’ TDs, one in the first quarter and the other in the last.

Stewarts Creek took a 24-7 halftime lead and Summit never caught up.

Summit quarterback Michael Zakrzewski passed for 194 yards and one TD with three interceptions.
