Elementary school students across the county went head-to-head using cans, bottles, cardboard and other recyclables to create jungle-themed art projects for the annual contest from Keep Williamson Beautiful.
The Recycled Project Contest also included middle schoolers creating video PSAs about how to properly “trashercise,” which means to pick up trash while exercising. Video PSAs will air on WC-TV Friday, June 5 at 8:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Also during the broadcast, elementary school winners will be presented with awards.

“The judges and I were greatly impressed by the creativity and quality of work submitted by Williamson County and Franklin Special School students grades K-8,” said Jennifer Gosciniak, Executive Director of Keep Williamson Beautiful.
Students will receive awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winning entries in the Elementary School Division and Middle School Division during the WC-TV broadcast. Plus, their school will receive a monetary award to go towards the school’s environmental program.
