Steeplechase Offers Holiday Sale for One Week Only

Following a successful Black Friday promotion last month, patrons will again have the limited-time opportunity to purchase discounted tickets online to the 2017 Iroquois Steeplechase from Monday, Dec. 12 until Friday, Dec. 16.

Certain tailgating spaces, individual infield tickets, and the 75th anniversary book will be available at special pricing during the holiday sale.

The Volunteer State Horsemen’s Foundation — the nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization which runs and manages the Iroquois Steeplechase — elected to run another promotion after seeing a spike in ticket sales in late November.

“Though the event is in May, attending the Iroquois Steeplechase is a time-honored tradition for many, and last month’s sale showed us that many of our patrons appreciate the incentive to buy tickets early and plan ahead,” said Dwight Hall, Chairman of the organization’s Race Committee. “Many also seem to be in the spirit of giving during this season and know that their purchases will directly serve our primary beneficiary, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.”

For one week only, all tailgating spaces that were not sold last year (regularly $600), individual tickets to the infield (regularly $85) and the 2016 book “Fierce Rivalries & Enduring Friendships, 75 Years of the Iroquois Steeplechase” by Kathleen C. McWhirter (regularly $45) can be purchased online at a 25 percent discount using the code HOLIDAY.

“We celebrated the 75th anniversary of our event this past May and are proud to have produced a book commemorating its long and rich history in Nashville,” said Hall. “We hope last-minute shoppers will take advantage of this opportunity to purchase the book along with tickets to next year’s race — both of which make great gifts!”

The 2017 Iroquois Steeplechase will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017. Discounted tickets and books can be purchased using the code HOLIDAY at www.iroquoissteeplechase.org. Maps of the grounds and more details about the various tailgating areas are also available online.
