Southern food entrepreneur to speak in Nolensville

Local restaurant entrepreneur Andy Marshall will be the featured speaker at the quarterly Nolensville Area Business Council (NABC) luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, at the Providence Baptist Fellowship, 1668 Sunset Road.

The NABC was formed in 2012 by local business leaders in association with the Williamson Chamber to provide a forum to support and grow the local economy in this fast-expanding area of the county. The quarterly meetings focus on community issues, networking and speakers who share their business stories and professional expertise.

The luncheon, presented by Williamson Medical Center, is open to business professionals throughout the county regardless of Chamber membership. The cost is $15, which includes lunch.

The popular Puckett’s family of restaurants now has expanded beyond Williamson County. Today the brand includes three Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant locations in downtown Franklin, downtown Nashville and downtown Columbia, Puckett’s Boat House in downtown Franklin and Puckett’s Trolley. Each family-owned eatery focuses on providing friends new and old with home-cooked food and Southern hospitality, the Puckett’s way.

A Tennessee native, Marshall grew up in the grocery business. At age 26 he purchased his first grocery store: an investment that quickly led to four additional locations and Marshall being named president of the Tennessee Grocers Association.
In 1998, Marshall sold those stores and bought a small grocery in the village of Leiper’s Fork. He launched a formal dinner and music program to enhance the shop and complement the town’s roots, and the Puckett’s brand was born. The company is a family affair, with wife Jan involved and daughter Claire serving as director of operations.
