RHS senior, Niman Mann, received the Moorehead Cain scholarship to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill worth over $300,000. The Moorehead Cain award is the first merit scholarship program established in the United States. Founded at the first public university in the United States. It was the  first to envision and implement a strategic summer enrichment program and, most recently, the first to designate a fund for discovery for each of our scholars. Established in 1945 and inspired by the Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University, the Morehead-Cain provides an undergraduate experience without peer.

Gene Li
Gene Li

Gene Li, Latin III Honors student, received a Letter of Commendation on the CAMWS Latin Translation Contest.  CAMWS stands for the Classical Association of the Middle, West, and South, and this annual translation contest is the most difficult by far of any that students participate in.  Nearly all the winners from Tennessee come from Memphis University School or Montgomery Bell Academy where Latin is required of all students.  Many of the students participating would have been fourth year or A.P. students, and Gene is a third year Latin student.
