Scene Around Town: Heritage Ball Reveal Party

Heritage Ball Cocktail

Community members gathered on Thursday, July 13 at Gallery 202 to crown the King and Queen of the upcoming Heritage Ball, in addition to revealing details of the highly anticipated event, such as décor, floral arrangements, and the signature cocktail.

Guests were greeted with the Ball’s crafted cocktail entitled “Catcher in the Rye,” created by Joni Cole, owner of Grays on Main. Additional beverages were available in the beautiful garden before attendees entered the art gallery for a “first look” at the Ball’s table setting and florals, along with the array of art available at Gallery 202, which is owned by Kelly Harwood.

Several pieces of the art that are set to be auctioned off at the Ball were also on display. Toward the end of the evening, Heritage Ball Chair Nancy Smith and Honorary Ball Chair Marty Ligon delivered remarks and thanked the Heritage Foundation and their staff for a wonderful reveal event and their excitement for the 2017 Heritage Ball. J. Edward and Linda Campbell were crowned King and Queen of the Ball in recognition of their numerous years volunteering in the Ball’s green room and coordinating fellow volunteers and the band. Mayor Ken Moore and Linda Moore presented the Campbells with their respective crowns and thanked them for their dedication to the Heritage Foundation, Franklin Art Scene and the Franklin community as a whole.

The Heritage Ball will be hosted on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Eastern Flank Battlefield Park. For additional information, visit http://historicfranklin.com/events/event/heritage-ball/.
