Scene Around Town: Battle of Franklin Trust Dinner

Guests arrive at Carnton Plantation for the cocktail reception

Guests gathered at Carnton Plantation on Friday, April 28 to celebrate the first annual Legacy Dinner (previously known as the McGavock dinner), which honors major donors of the Battle of Franklin Trust.

The event began with a cocktail reception on the back porch of the historic Carnton Plantation, where guests mingled on a beautiful spring evening surrounded by the preserved battlefield grounds of the Battle of Franklin.

Following the cocktail reception, guests enjoyed dinner catered by Flavor Caters, featuring burnt sugar crusted airline chicken breast with a whiskey glaze.

CEO of the Battle of Franklin Trust, Eric Jacobson delivered remarks about the growth of the Trust and thanked patrons for support and record-breaking funds raised in the past year. At the end of the evening, two Legacy Awards were given to Jim Roberts and Hunter Battle to honor their efforts in preserving these hallowed grounds. Each recipient received a historic photo from the Battle of Franklin and was thanked for their dedication to the cause.
