Sales are Up, ‘Best July Since 2005’ Says WC Association of Realtors

Allison King, Government Affairs and Communications Director for Williamson County Association of Realtors said “Sales were up over 32% in Williamson County last month, setting the record for the best July since 2005.” According to the statistics released for July the number of single-family residential closings increased by 32.1 percent over last year’s figures.

The median sales price for a single-family home also increased by $30,500, up to $385,500 in July of 2013. Not only are sales up but time on the market for a home has reduced in the county as well. Lack of available inventory has been cited as a cause for this. July 2013 saw 538 closings on single–family homes and 27 condo sales. That is 131 more home closings this year.

Franklin had the most closings followed by Brentwood, with Spring Hill close behind. The average price of homes sold is highest in Brentwood with a figure of $668,870. Franklin’s average was $479,600, and Nolensville took third highest average with $367,419. Davidson and Maury Counties both showed strong closing figures as well for the month.
