Chemo Duck Family Loses Father to Cancer, How You Can Support Them

Sipos Family

The Sipos family, of Spring Hill, has been supporting families across the nation who have been battling cancer through Gabe’s Chemo Duck Program, which enables hospital staff and parents to better prepare children for chemotherapy and eliminate the fear of the unknown, with the use of a friendly duck. The program began in 2004 by Lu Sipos after her son Gabe was diagnosed with cancer. Now, after all the support the Sipos’ have given the community and beyond, they need your help.

After two years of treatment, Lu’s husband Rob, lost his battle to spine cancer last week. A GoFundMe account has been established for the family to help cover medical costs as well as expenses.

On the page, it states, “Lu is so grateful for the outpouring of love and support that she has received from so many. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they morn the loss of their amazing dad and husband.”

The Memorial Service for Rob will be held at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home located at 3009 Columbia Avenue, Franklin on Wednesday, April 12th at 6pm (visitation at 4pm).

Currently, the page has raised $16,720 with a goal of $100,000. To help support the Sipos family, please visit their Go Fund Me page.
