Rippavilla Task Force to Oversee Transition of Spring Hill’s Newest Park

Following the Spring Hill Board of Mayor and Aldermen’s action Monday to officially acquire Rippavilla Plantation and its related 98 acres, Mayor Rick Graham announced Wednesday his appointment of a task force to oversee the transition of this historic property into city operations.

“Our next step for Rippavilla is creating a well thought out bridge of transition to properly and efficiently set up Rippavilla into our city services,” Mayor Graham said. “This includes a long-term perspective, direction, funding, budgeting, daily operations, and uses for this gem in our city. A task force is needed for a master plan recommendation to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. I want to thank these folks for volunteering in this important endeavor. We look forward to seeing your recommendations.”

Mayor Graham has asked City of Spring Hill Economic Development Coordinator Kayce Williams to champion the task force, which will include the following members:

– Kayce Williams, economic development coordinator

– Chuck Downham, assistant city administrator

– Mike Rayburn, GM Spring Hill Manufacturing facility area manager and member of the Rippavilla Inc. Board of Directors

– Eric Jacobson, U.S. Civil War historian
