3. 55 South – Nolensville

Over the summer the Nolensville Planning Commission approved a plan for a project at 7221 Nolensville Pike, across from the Sonic and the current location of Martins’s Bar-B-Que. One of the new businesses that will move to the site is 55 South, which will be the restaurant’s third Williamson County location.

There has been little word from 55 South owner Jason McConnell, or Fresh Hospitality, which is developing the project, about when the restaurant will open but plans for the project show a 2018 completion. Martin’s Bar-B-Que will also move across the street to the new building.

Plans show a 6.2-acre site with three buildings. Phase 1 plans show a 6,484 square foot Martin’s and next to it a 3,541 square foot 55 South. A third building, marked Phase 2, will be a 3,600 square foot retail shop.

This will be the second dual Martin’s and 55 South project in the county. Earlier this year, plans for a Spring Hill project showed that the two restaurants will be built next to each other off Main Street.

Fresh Hospitality, Martin’s Bar.-B-Que’s parent company, did not return a request for comments. Neither did McConnell Hospitality Group, which owns 55 South. The Nolensville project is legally owned by the Nolensville Campus, LLC, which includes members of Fresh Hospitality and McConnell, according to Tennessee Secretary of State incorporation records.
