The Predators were looking to make history by completing their first ever sweep in franchise history and that is exactly what they did on Thursday night as they dominated the Blackhawks 4-1.

Pekka Rinne was stellar in net as he stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced while the team in front of him played a complete game to complete a stunning series sweep over Chicago.

The Predators came out of the gates flying, as expected, and really didn’t take their foot off of the gas for the entire first period. Nashville dominated play from the opening faceoff.

Just 24 seconds into the game the Predators found themselves on the man advantage as Kevin Fiala was hooked by Duncan Keith on a partial breakaway. While the Preds were unable to score on the powerplay, they did create a number of chances.

This was an unbelievable, unthinkable series. The Predators just swept the top team in the Western Conference. Nobody saw this coming, which makes it even sweeter for Nashville.
