Point Park Opens in Honor of Peter Jordan

Jordan Family

The flood waters receded just in time for the Point Park ribbon cutting on Monday afternoon.

As part of the Bicentennial Park, located at 3rd Avenue and Hillsboro Road, the area has a trail along the Harpeth River.

Franklin notables and a Kindergarten class from Battle Ground Academy, who had recently completed a project about how parks are created and formed, attended the event.

Point Park is the third phase of the Bicentennial Park project which started back in 2015 and included Point Park and a Harpeth River overlook with a trail extension.

The City of Franklin dedicated the trail to one of the champions of the Harpeth River, Peter Jordan, who lost his battle to cancer in 2011.

Watch our video where Peter Jordan’s wife, Rudy, talks about her late husband and the honor of having the trail named after him.
