CMA Fest

The streets were crowded with country music fans as well as Predators fans for the first day of CMA Fest. We have to say you couldn’t have asked for better weather.

Starting off the day was Miranda Lambert and the MuttNation March.  See the photo from Instagram that Storme Warren posted.

While we take for granted that CMA Fest happens just minutes away from where we live, for others it’s a journey that often is a dream. Thursday morning, Make-A-Wish Foundation granted a wish to a very special country music fan, Michael, an 11-year-old who is fighting cerebral palsy. Make-A-Wish and Kretschmar granted Michael’s wish by giving he and his family four days of VIP treatment. They were treated to a concert by Ruthie Collins, Kelleigh Bannen, and Natalie Stovall. Just when they thought the luncheon was over, Easton Corbin surprised Michael with a special appearance.

HGTV Lodge kicked off CMA Fest with a performance by Tyler Farr.

Fans enjoyed the music at the Walk of Fame Park. To see the schedule for the rest of the weekend, read our article here.

At the end of the day, fans headed over the bridge to Nissan Stadium for the first night of concerts.  Starting the evening was Kenny Rogers, “The Gambler” but the fans were surprised when one performer hit the stage. Garth Brooks didn’t appear on the lineup for the evening. Brook sang some of his well known songs -“Friends in Low Places,”  “The Dance,” and “Thunder Rolls.”
