Page Passes Past Giles County

On Thursday night, Page topped Giles County 49-27 in the Patriots’ final regular season home game of the season. The Bobcats, traditionally a thorn in the Patriots side, punted only once, but couldn’t finished drives. On the other side, the Patriots were led by a 300 yard, 5 touchdown passing performance by Michael Magochy, which was complimented by a 124 yard, 2 touchdown performance on the ground by Michael Roberts.

The scoring was opened by an 8-yard touchdown pass from Magochy to Connor Morss midway through the first quarter. After getting the ball back from Giles County, Magochy completed a 17-yard touchdown pass to Trevor Johnson to give the Patriots a 14-0 lead. After a Giles County touchdown, Page responded with another big drive through the air, finishing it with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Magochy to Will Pierce. The Bobcats responded yet again, but Page used their two-minute offense to take a lead into the half at 28-14 after another Magochy to Pierce connection.

Page would open the second half with a fumble of the kickoff, which Giles County would turn into points again. Page would respond quickly with a completion from Magochy to Dillon Myers for a 14-yard touchdown. After forcing a turnover on downs, Page went back on the offensive. This time, Page would take to the ground, scoring on a 20-yard run off the direct snap to Michael Roberts to give Page a 42-21 lead after 3. Midway through the 4th quarter, Roberts would add an 84-yard touchdown run to expand the Patriot lead. Giles County would add a touchdown to round out the scoring at 49-27.

The win moved the Patriots to 6-2, 4-0 in Class 4A Region 4 and also clinched a first-round home playoff game for Page. Next week, the Patriots move back out of regional play to face White House on the road, before facing Marshall County for the regional crown during the final week of the season.
