Our Top 5 Picks for 2016 Christmas Albums

If you are looking for some holiday tunes to listen to while trimming the tree, we’ve got some great suggestions. 2016 is a very good year for new Christmas albums. There are so many new Christmas albums, it was hard to narrow it down to just five, but here you go.

1. A Pentatonix Christmas 

Taking Christmas to a whole new level, the acapella group Pentatonix, who brought us one of our favorite renditions of Dolly Parton’s Jolene, is back with their second Christmas album.  Listen to “God Rest You Merry Gentleman” like you’ve never heard it before. Find it here on iTunes. 

2. Behold – Lauren Daigle 

Award-winning singer/songwriter Lauren Daigle released her first-ever Christmas album titled BEHOLD.  Produced by Paul Mabury and Jason Ingram, the style of the holiday album pays homage to the sounds of Lauren’s hometown of New Orleans. Featuring soft jazz renditions of Christmas favorites, BEHOLD includes such classics as “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Download it here on iTunes. 

3. To Celebrate Christmas – Jennifer Nettles

This project shines with dynamic harmonies with Tony Award-winner Idina Menzel on “Little Drummer Boy and Nettles partnered with Dolly Parton for“Circle Of Love.” Jennifer will also star in the NBC television special based on Dolly’s life this December called “Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love,” a holiday-themed sequel to the rating success “Coat of Many Colors” which airs on November 30. 4. A Very Kacey Christmas – Kacey Musgraves 

It’s Kacey Musgraves first holiday album. Kicking off the release of her Christmas album with a concert at the Ryman in Nashville, fans can expect some tradition but also something new. Musgraves wrote an original song called “A Willie Nice Christmas” featuring Willie Nelson on vocals and guitar. Download it here on iTunes.

5. Glow – Brett Eldredge

Glow showcases Eldredge’s powerful vocals on timeless Christmas standards and features the special duet with the 2016 GRAMMY winner for Best New Artist, Meghan Trainor.
