One More Reason to Shop at Target

Target

Where was this when back to school shopping was taking place? I think a lot more shoppers just pushed Target to the top of their go-to shopping places with this new announcement.

The Chicago Business reports that a Chicago store currently under construction could be one of the first locations to have a full bar. The new Chicago store has applied for two city liquor license, one to sell packaged liquor like beer, wine and  spirits, the other to serve alcohol on site.

It will be the only Target location to serve alcohol but it is following in a trend of other retailers like Whole Foods, Hy-Vee, and Wegmans that offer bars and made-to-order food. No word yet on whether Target will be serving alcohol on site at other locations nationwide.

Recently, Target announced phasing out of gender signs in their stores due to customer concerns. They state on their website,”Right now, our teams are working across the store to identify areas where we can phase out gender-based signage to help strike a better balance. For example, in the kids’ Bedding area, signs will no longer feature suggestions for boys or girls, just kids. In the Toys aisles, we’ll also remove reference to gender, including the use of pink, blue, yellow or green paper on the back walls of our shelves. You’ll see these changes start to happen over the next few months.”

Target is the nation’s second largest discount retailer. More News Here
