OBITUARY: Mary Sue Perry Hall

Mary Sue Perry Hall

Mary Sue (Perry) Hall, age 90, of Murfreesboro passed from this life on April 8, 2017.

Mary Sue was born on May 20, 1926 and raised near Pensacola, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Walter Lamar Perry, Sr. and the late James Edna Williams Perry. In 1944, she met and married the late Robert E. Hall of Mt. Pleasant, TN. He was a sailor stationed in Pensacola at the time. She always said she couldn’t take him out of the hills so she moved to the hills of Tennessee. With him she raised birds and kids. After his death in 1975 she worked as a seamstress, a cook in a diner, a clerk in shoe store, and kept children until she went back to school and got her LPN license in 1983. She worked as a nurse for several years and then went back to her love of keeping children, who lovingly called her Mema. She was a faithful Christian and devoted her life to serving God and others.

She is survived by her five children, Cathie (Sandy) Billings, Debra (David) Fisher, Perry (Vicky) Hall, Edna (Jimmy) Hunt, and Mary Frances (Shane) Gillespie. She has 15 grandchildren and 19 (with one on the way) great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hall will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, at 11:00 a.m. with Jimmy Hunt, Shane Gillespie, and Rick Duggin officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, April 13 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
