New Vanderbilt Children’s After Hours Clinic Open in Brentwood

Monroe Carell Children's Hospital

Convenient after-hours care from board-certified pediatricians is now just around the corner for Brentwood residents and the surrounding community. Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt has opened a fourth after-hours clinic in Brentwood, Tennessee.

The latest Vanderbilt Children’s After-Hours Clinic is located at the Shoppes of Brentwood Hills, next to Target at 782 Old Hickory Boulevard, Suite 203.

The new location will allow parents to take their children to get care when their pediatricians’ offices have closed for the day or the weekend. To keep care consistent and current, the child’s regular pediatrician will be sent a report about the visit the same evening.

“We are so pleased that our after-hours clinics are truly meeting a gap in coverage for our children. Families and community pediatricians have supported our growth and we appreciate their loyalty to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt,” said Meg Rush, M.D., chief of staff and executive medical director of Children’s Hospital.

The Vanderbilt Children’s After-Hours Clinic will be open seven days a week, including holidays.

The hours are Monday-Friday, 6-9:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 12:30-7:30 p.m.
Vanderbilt board-certified pediatricians will staff the clinic and offer acute care for minor illnesses such as fever, sore throat, asthma, splinting and repairing wounds. No appointment is necessary, but it is recommended that parents call their child’s regular primary care physician first.

“We are excited about the opening of our new after-hours clinic in Brentwood,” said Susan John, M.D., medical director for the Vanderbilt Children’s After-Hours Clinics, operated by the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

“We aim to meet the needs of the Brentwood community by extending the same quality of care we offer here at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, closer to home.”

During the day, the space is used by Vanderbilt Primary Care and the Vanderbilt Asthma, Sinus and Allergy Program.
