New Donut and Custard Shop Opening Soon In Spring Hill

The nationwide franchise donut shop Daylight Donuts is opening its first Williamson County location in Spring Hill in August. The chain’s roots go back to 1954, when husband and wife Tommy and Lucille Day set out to create a new kind of doughnut mix — one with a distinctively light texture and flavor. The Day’s light doughnut recipe became Daylight Donuts.

The Spring Hill shop will be at 4926 Port Royal Road, and is getting ready for an August opening. The exact date is not yet set.

Daylight will serve more than just donuts, though. In addition to Muletown coffee, they will offer Jonnie’s Frozen Custard, which Daylight calls “the best kept secret of the Midwest.”

Doughnut-wise, they will offer the traditional glazed-style and cake donuts, with all the usual varieties, and specialty donuts, from bearclaw to custard and cream-filled.

Kolaches, a sausage wrapped in dough, will also be on the menu.

Right now, the Spring Hill shop is actively looking for employees. If you or someone you know is interested in an opportunity there, e-mail [email protected]

  1. There are several Daylight Donuts in the state of Tennessee, including one in neighboring Giles county. I opened the shop in Pulaski 13 years ago. This may be the first in Spring Hill, but far from the first in Tennessee.

  2. I think it was just saying the first in Williamson county unless I read wrong. I’m so excited to see it come here. I’ve never tried this chain before!!!
