Celebrity chef, Maneet Chauhan opened Chauhan Ale & Masala House on 12th Avenue North just over a year ago.

Now, she is expanding to Franklin to open a speciality craft brewery this fall.Chauhan will partner with brewmaster Derrick Morse, formerly of Cool Springs Brewery, to open Mantra Artisan Ales, which will feature craft brews inspired by Chauhan’s Indian heritage.

Morse and Chauhan already have experience working together — Cool Springs Brewery contract brews the specialty ales served at Chauhan Ale and Masala House: Saffron Cardamom IPA and Milk Chai Stout. The new brewery will open in space previously occupied by Turtle Anarchy Brewing Co., which is moving into a new, larger space in The Nations.

Maneet Chauhan is also a judge on the Food Network’s popular reality cooking show “Chopped.”
