New Boutique Opens on Main Street

Imago Dei boutique

Downtown Franklin gained a new boutique a couple of weeks ago. Moving into the former Fanfest space next to Savory Spice, Imago Dei is now open. Owner, Sarah Tucker, who previously shared a storefront in The Factory with House of Belonging now feels as if returning to Main Street is a homecoming.  We sat down with Sarah to learn more about the new space, and what to expect when you shop at Imago Dei. Imago Dei

You mentioned  that you are happy to return to Main Street, tell us the other places that you have worked on Main Street?

Yes! I am overjoyed to be back on Main Street. I’ve worked on Main Street since I was 15-years-old, so landing on Main Street is an absolute dream. I started out at Sweet Cece’s, worked there for a little over a year until I decided I’d rather work for clothes! Haha! I worked at Jondie for two years (absolutely ADORE Rebecca and Jondie and the whole Jondie girls crew) and from there started working at Philanthropy where I managed the store for a year.

Why was it so important for you to have your store on Main Street?(tell us how you were able to utilize the Fanfest space)

It was so important to be on Main Street because, let’s be honest, you can’t beat this location. Not only is it an attraction with great food and shopping for locals, but tourist as well. You can’t beat Main Street foot traffic!

Why the name Imago Dei?

This has to be my favorite question I get asked. Imago Dei means ‘the image of God’. Last year God told me to quit my job. I had already dropped school to pursue the opportunity in front of me and now to quit?! So as I was asking the Lord what I was going to do, He gave me a vision of a store. Words of truth and identity covered the back left wall with Imago Dei in raised letters, very obviously the store name. When all the doors opened to have a store, I couldn’t imagine calling it anything else.

Tell us about the types of offerings you have in the store?

Imago Dei has a little bit of everything for a little bit of everyone! We carry women’s clothing, children’s clothing, a small selection of home goods, specialty candles, denim, shoes, jewelry, custom bags + more! The best thing we have to offer in my opinion is the welcoming + loving atmosphere that you walk into hopefully every time you come visit!

What are the top 3 trends you think everyone must have this fall?

Three trends I think everyone needs this fall… You wouldn’t have to walk far to see the chokers. I think everyone’s wearing them right now! A lot of people are scared of chokers, but there’s no need to be. There are such a variety and so many different ways to wear them (at all price points) that I think everyone can pull them off! Printed cardigans. NEED. You have to have one in your closet. And lastly, anything velvet.

Imago Dei is located at 326 Main Street, Franklin. Hours of operation are Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm, closed on Sunday.  Follow Imago Dei on Facebook for the latest offerings and updates.
