Miraculous Hail Mary Gives BA Top SportsCenter Play

They may not have won the game, but the Brentwood Academy Eagles went home with the best play and some hefty ESPN recognition against Montgomery Bell Academy Friday.

On the last play of the first half in the Eagles’ 31-24 loss, quarterback Jeremiah Oatsvall evaded the pass rush and launched a pass that went about 60 yards through the air. Instead of coming down with a catch after the ball was tipped once, wide receiver Cam Johnson tipped it again over a crowd of players into the waiting arms of Lawrence Segree for the 57-yard touchdown.

The play, which rose to No. 1 on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays of Friday night, tied the game at 17 at halftime.
