Posted minutes from the Spring Hill Economic Development Commission meeting on November 4, 2014.

Members Present: Bruce Hull, Charlie Schoenbrodt, Jim Grimes, Chester Darden, Sue Jeffers, David St. Charles, and Will Tenpenny

Also present: Matt Largent, President & CEO Williamson Inc., Megan Zent, Williamson Inc., Aldermen Susan Zemek & Kayce Williams, City Admin, Victor Lay, Greg Jinkerson (Spring Hill Home Page), and Jamie Page (Communications Officer City of SH)

Meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by Chairman Jim Grimes.

Minutes from the October 7, 2014, meeting were approved.

Matt Largent provided an overview of how Williamson Inc. came into being. current Outlook Williamson publication used by Wm. Inc as a promotion tool.

He reported the following:
-Wm. Co. has only 3% office vacancy.
-A catalog of available property is a most important part of ED.
-Williamson 101 is a booklet Wm. Inc. uses as a marketing tool.
-TVA has a program to suggest appropriate use of various properties. Pat Embry is a good resource.

In answer to questions, Mr. Largent responded:
-A local airport would be an assett, but there does not seem to be land appropriate for that use Office development may provide employment to help keep residents home.
-Ellie Westman Shin is the new Williamson County Director of Tourism

Susan Zemic and Kayce Williams reported their experience at the Southeast ICSC conference in Atlanta.
They made many contacts that could result in new retail in Spring Hill.
Retail representatives often sought them out after learning that they were from Spring Hill, TN. They indicated that they got a good foundation to interact with Retail Strategies. They also suggested that Spring Hill should have a Booth at future ICSC events.

Victor Lay indicated that they should make a presentation to BOMA.

Next meeting is scheduled for December 2, 2014.
