Local craft beer is coming to Nolensville at the Mill Creek Brewery opening up just across the street from Mill Creek on Johnson Industrial Blvd.

The brewery is co-owned by Chris Going and Michael Krewson who met while teaching music at St. Edward’s School in Nashville. Brewing beer was a hobby for both Going and Krewson beginning in about 2010. After two years of brewing in their garages, Going and Krewson decided to go for it big and start their own brewery.

“It was just a natural partnership,” Going said. “I couldn’t think of doing this with anybody else.”

Going got Mill Creek Brewery started with a Kickstarter campaign last year, which raised about half the funds set out as a goal. Nonetheless, the brewery is set to open in October of this year with draft beer. A canned product is planned for release in December.

Mill Creek Brewery will be inside a 27,000 sq. ft. warehouse and be home to a 5,000 sq. ft. taproom. Brewing on a 30 barrel system, they will be producing about 120 barrels of beer per month and build from there. Tours of the facility will also be available, and the taproom will feature all four of Mill Creek Brewery’s beers on tap.

Mill Creek Brewery is planning to make four different beers once they are up and running: Lil’ Darlin, a citrus-infused wheat beer and the first to be released; Hopscotch, an IPA; Landmark, a German-style lager, and a farmhouse ale called Silo.

“Our whole focus is making approachable craft beer,” Going said. “It’s beers that are lower in alcohol and have easier to drink flavor profiles.”

Going and Krewson will be hosting a special event on Thursday, July 16 at Martin’s BBQ in Nolensville. They will be giving out samples and souvenir pint glasses at the event and also sharing their vision for the Mill Creek Brewery.
