Saturday morning, the Maury County Sheriff’s Department reported that Deputy Jimmy Tennyson died after a car accident on Iron Bridge Road.
Officials said it appears Tennyson was traveling westbound on the road when he lost control and went down a 35-foot embankment, reports WKRN.
The Maury Co Sheriff’s Department posted the following on Facebook:
With absolutely broken hearts, we would like to update everyone on Deputy Jimmy Tennyson. We lost our friend and brother this morning to his battle for life.
Jimmy was involved in a single vehicle accident yesterday morning on Iron Bridge Rd. He was rushed to Maury Regional Hospital then to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. He passed with his family by his side. Funeral arrangements are forthcoming.
