Dickens of a Christmas: Street Closures & Where to Park

Come Friday night, Main Street in Franklin will have to close down for Dickens of a Christmas.

To help the store merchants, the Downtown Franklin Association is asking that consumers refrain from parking on Main Street after 3 p.m. Starting at 6 p.m., store owners will start placing parking cones along Main Street when spaces become empty to prepare for setup.

At 9 p.m., Main Street will totally close down for traffic for the Dickens of a Christmas set up. The event will stretch from First to Fifth Avenues.

Main Street will reopen Sunday night by 9 or 10 p.m. dependent on when the City of Franklin can clean up the streets.

Here’s how to make parking easy:

Dickens of a Christmas off-site parking and shuttles will be available on Saturday and Sunday.

Pick up locations include Church of the City on Saturday only (828 Murfreesboro Road) and Harlinsdale Farm on both days (239 Franklin Road).

The cost is $1 each way and the shuttles will run 10 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. on Sunday.
