The TSSAA State Bowling Championship, originally scheduled for this past weekend at Smyrna Bowling Center, is happening this Friday and Saturday.

The Franklin Lady Rebels (19-0), the first District 9 team to ever make it this far, beat Lebanon 17.5 -9.5 last week in sectionals.

Individual championships took place, with athletes from local schools represented. Results here.

Here is the statement from TSSAA:

We will continue the tournament without the Baker Format matches that were in place to determine seeding. For Division II, the brackets will be set as they were from when bowling started up until 3 years ago, and that is by their finish in the Region. For Division I, it will be set via a blind draw with the only guarantee being that two teams from the same region be set in opposite sides of the bracket.

The new brackets with lane assignments will be posted on the TSSAA website by 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
