Nashville Ballet Presents “Carnival of the Animals”

The Lion –“King of the Jungle” — cannot understand why everyone isn’t exactly like him.  A wise and patient bird introduces the lion to a host of creatures — including an elephant, swan and fish — to teach him that we are all unique, and it’s exactly those differences that make life interesting. With choreography by Paul Vasterling set to Camille Saint-Saens well-known composition of the same name.  Children and their families will follow the lion’s journey through the jungle all while learning some of life’s most important lessons.

Passport to the World—Russian Federation

Save the date to visit Russia without leaving Franklin!  The meeting room at the Library will be transformed into the Russian Federation, where you will experience that country’s culture, music and food.  This Passport event will be presented by Olga Alexeeva and friends, with music presented by Natasha Borzilova.

Andre and the Heartsounds Concert

Dr. Andre Churchwell and The Heartsounds perform classics from The Great American Songbook. The Great American Songbook features American popular songs featured in some of the most beloved films ever made. The songs were written by George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers, Cole Porter, and many more of the leading songwriters of the first 50 years of American popular music. Sponsored by The Steinway Society of Nashville and The Brentwood Library.
