Back to Basics — Organic Gardening

Want to learn how to garden and be kind to the environment at the same time? Come to Amy Dismukes’ introduction to Organic Gardening!  Her presentation is not so much “anti-chemical” as it is pro-gardening in an environmentally friendly manner.  Amy will offer an overview of gardening in cooperation with the ecosystem of the home garden.  In addition to explaining how to build/improve soil and plant nutrition using organic fertilizers, Amy will also demonstrate ways to grow a garden that is naturally resistant to pests and diseases.

Come hear Franklin author Rick Wornell read his first published children’s picture book, The Two-Toed Toad on the Road.  The moral of this delightful adventure is the importance of friendship, and the story is one that both children and adults enjoy.  Pre-release copies will be available at this reading for only $5.  This special event for the whole family will be in the Library’s meeting room.

Introduction to Ancestry.com

Ancestry.com is one of the most powerful and user friendly genealogy tools available, and patrons can access Ancestry free with a WCPL card within the library!  This introduction will cover the basics of using Ancestry.com to search through census records, death certificates, family trees, and more to find your ancestors; as well as a few tips and tricks to help get more accurate results from your searches!

Introduction to Feng Shui Class
Local interior decorator, Amanda Gates, will speak on the art of Feng Shui Monday, April 21st at 1pm. Book Sale
Friends of the Brentwood Library Quarterly Used Book Sale Friday April 25- April 27th.  The sale is open Friday and Saturday from 10a-5:30p and Sunday 1p-5:30p. On Sunday, sales are half price.
