At the Nov 25th Board of Mayor & Alderman (BOMA) meeting, the  Lease Agreement between the City of Franklin and Friends of Franklin Parks, LLC for the Multi-purpose Equestrian Arena at Harlinsdale Farm was approved.

According to a draft of the lease agreement, the two parties agreed on terms for a five year lease, to begin January 2015. The lease can be renewed for an additional three years.

Friends of Franklin Parks states that The Harlinsdale arena is a $1.1 million project, and Friends of Franklin Parks has raised more than $520,000 to date. The City has contributed $200,000 for public restroom facilities.

In addition, Friends of Franklin Parks will “permanently conserve the Conservation Values of Harlinsdale Farm.”

Friends of  Franklin Parks will pay rent of $1.00 for 2015 and 2016. Beginning in 2017, the City will receive 10% of all gross revenue generated by events held on the property.
