Kelly Clarkson Duets and Fat Shaming

If only we all could be this self-confident.  Kelly Clarkson recently appeared on the The Graham Norton Show where British reporter, Katie Hopkins tweeted after that appearance, “what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen. #grahamnorton.” via Huffington Post.

Clarkson’s fans came to her defense since she just had a baby eight months ago.   On March 3, Hopkins addressed the fans with another comment, “Look chubsters, Kelly Clarkson had a baby a year ago,” the 40-year-old TV personality tweeted. “That is no longer baby weight. That is carrot cake weight. Get over yourselves.”

Clarkson was totally unaware of the situation until asked about it in Heat magazine interview.

Her response was brilliant,”That’s because she doesn’t know me. I’m awesome! It doesn’t bother me. It’s a free world. Say what you will. I’ve just never cared what people think. It’s more if I’m happy and I’m confident and feeling good, that’s always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family—I don’t seek out any other acceptance.”

Clarkson’s new album “Piece by Piece” just released on March 3, 2015 and is projected to earn one of the highest debuts.

Recently, Clarkson sang a series of duets with Jimmy Fallon that covered the most popular of the last several decades kicking off with  Sonny and Cher’s, “I Got You Babe.”  The most hilarious duet is when Fallon changes costumes and the look on guitarist Captain Kirk Douglas face is priceless as he tries not to laugh.
