An Instagram picture posted by Justin Timberlake has country music fans buzzing. Earlier this week, he posted a picture of himself in the studio with Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild, noting that they were writing together.
Of course, this isn’t Timberlake’s first country music rodeo. The Tennessee native teamed up with Chris Stapleton for an unforgettable performance at last year’s CMA Awards. The two sang “Tennessee Whiskey” and “Drink You Away” by George Jones. Video of the performance instantly went viral, catapulting Stapleton’s popularity and many complimenting Timberlake’s knack for country music.

In an interview on XM radio in 2013, he noted his country roots showing in “Drink You Away” and his love for Music City.
“[I] listened to country music, R&B music, classic rock, you know, everything,” Timberlake said about his diverse musical upbringing. “You know what I love about Nashville too, you don’t have to have an official single to have a single. That’s my favorite part about the scene in Nashville.”
“I still got my eyes set on a Best Country Album, there is time for that,” he added, only slightly joking.
