The Joy of Food: Corner Pub Franklin

by Serenity Joy Miller, Freelance Food Critic

Tonight, I grabbed a burger at the Corner Pub in Franklin, TN. I figured the bar would be busy with Monday Night Football fans, but the crowd consisted of families and friends playing live trivia. Every time I visit the Corner Pub, I run into people I know, and tonight was no exception. The relaxed, comfortable atmosphere makes this an ideal location for Happy Hour drinks with coworkers, a quick lunch with a friend, dinner with the fam, or game day partying. Their tag line, “The neighborhood meets at the corner,” describes the feel of the pub perfectly.

Since it was just me tonight, I sat at the bar and checked out the drink list. The Corner Pub offers 24 beers on tap, and I chose the Left Hand Milk Stout, which is one of my favorite stouts. After perusing the menu, which included 10 different burgers and dozens of other choices, I decided on the Bleu Cheeseburger with fries and a side of homemade blue cheese dressing. I ordered the burger medium to medium well, and it came out perfectly pink in the center.

Corner Pub 1The burger was thick and juicy with a nice texture, and the plate presentation was appetizing and plentiful. The beef itself could have been more flavorful with herbs, spices, or a marinade added directly to the patty, but the burger tasted fresh and unadulterated. The blue cheese crumbles melted onto the beef just right, and the dressing on the side was a delicious, savory, creamy accompaniment for the burger and fries. The crinkle fries were crispy on the outside and well-seasoned. Overall, the meal was delicious, and the experience was very enjoyable.

Along with their tasty burgers and fries, I would like to recommend the Corner Pub’s Reuben sandwich, Buffalo Chicken Steamers, Chicken Wings, and Meat & Three selections.

As always, the staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit to the Corner Pub in Franklin! 
