JazzMania 2014 Event Brings Record Attendance

Jazzmania 2014 was held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Franklin at the Factory.  Hosting the event was Debbie and Doyle of the Debbie and Doyle Show.  Most notable known for parody, simultaneously lampooning and idolizing country music’s tradition of iconic duos and their subsequent battle of the sexes. Bruce Arntson and Jenny Littleton wield the vocals of vintage country stars and the acting chops of Broadway veterans. Over the past three years, Doyle and Debbie have developed a rabid cult following in Nashville.

After introductions of the evening,  it was Annie Sellick and the Hot Club of Nashville bringing their fiery guitars and the voice of Annie Selleck that had you wanting more.

Afterwards, the live auctions began with an auctioneer who described the item up for bid.  Some of the most popular items included; Grayton Beach House, Dinner and Concert in Your  Home  with Chef John Howard with a concert by Lori Mechem & Christina Watson, and V.I.P. at the Jazz Cave with an exclusive table for 4 at any of the 6 performances in the  Jazz Cave until the end of 2015.

The evening concluded the salsa sound of El Moviento which included students from the Jazz Workshops.  Their sultry sound had most of the patrons on their feet either finishing out their silent auction bids or dancing to the music.

Overall, the night was about celebrating the mission of the  Nashville Jazz Workshop which works to  expand and  to enrich the lives of other’s by offering world class jazz education and performances.  Over the past year the Jazz Workshop has taught over 700 students, presented  30 performances in their venue the Jazz Cave, provided advanced students for Cheekwood and “Jazz by the Book” at Parnassus Books.  All of which was made possible the fundraising efforts of Jazzmania.
