Hoggin’ N Joggin’ Race Coming to Nolensville

Runners in the May 17 Hoggin’ N Joggin’ event will have to do more than athletics to win the prize, they’ll also be scarfing down food from local kitchens as they tackle a 12K either as individuals or on a team of three.

Running and eating may seem a little reckless, but last year this event raised over $3,500 to support the Nolensville Food Pantry, and hopes to raise even more this year. Food items are given to each team member before they run their portion of the 12K relay–the 3 Hoggers Relay calls for 3 individuals to complete 2.5 miles each. Individuals can tackle the entire 12K alone in the Iron Hogger.

There is also the “Slow Hoggin'” division, a 1.5 mile walker’s course with two food items from McDougal’s Chicken eaten at the beginning and a dessert from the Behkary eaten for victory while crossing the finish line.

Costumes are encouraged and participants will receive a t-shirt and goodie bag. There will also be prizes for each division.  Food donations come from McDougal’s Chicken, Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint, Mama’s Java, and The Behkary.
