Heroes in Heels to Model Fashions from Dillards of Cool Springs

On Tuesday, October 21 YMCA’s After Breast Cancer program will present Heroes in Heels, a model fashion show where 30 survivors of breast cancer will celebrate the road to recovery by modeling fall fashions from Dilliards of Cool Springs.

The community can support the YMCA’s healthy living work and cheer our local survivors by attending the upcoming fashion show. The fundraising event will take place at Jamison Hall at the Factory. A cocktail hour will precede the event starting at 6 p.m., and doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The fashion show will begin at 7 p.m.

The event seeks to increase awareness and support of the Y’s efforts to meet the targeted health needs of people in the community.  ABC is a part of those efforts and helps survivors regain strength and range of motion following cancer treatment.

Since the program launched at the Cool Springs YMCA a decade ago, its reach has grown to serve survivors in five Middle Tennessee counties. ABC is also offered at the Bellevue, Clarksville, Rutherford and Putnam County YMCAs and is open to both Y members and non-members. Participants receive a 16-week YMCA membership along with a customized exercise plan developed by a Pink Ribbon Certified personal trainer, nutrition counseling with a registered dietician, lymph edema education and the support and encouragement of caring YMCA staff and fellow breast cancer patients and survivors.  The program truly emphasizes growth in spirit, mind and body through intentional building of community via curriculum-based small group counseling and fitness experiences.

Tickets to the Heroes in Heels fashion show are available for $25 in advance, $35 at the door on the day of the event. Premium seating tables for 4 are also available for advance purchase for $150. To purchase advance tickets visit http://give.ymcamidtn.org/heroesMFY.
