This Thursday, June 30, two leading pediatric physicians will be speaking about child safety and will be answering your questions as part of the Williamson Medical Center HealthyU Education Series. The public is invited to attend.
Cristina Estrada, M.D., is a pediatric emergency medicine physician and is the medical director of the pediatric emergency department at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital Vanderbilt at Williamson Medical Center. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. She will be joined by Carrie Lind, M.D., medical director of pediatric hospital medicine. Dr. Lind is board certified in pediatrics.
Both Estrada and Lind see a number of common and not-so-common ailments come through the pediatric emergency department and inpatient unit on a daily basis and will offer insight to parents, grandparents and anyone who cares for children as well as provide information about the children’s hospital itself.
“Summer is the busy season in the pediatric emergency room and although we love to see kids in the ER, we love to see them safe at home and out of the hospital more,” Estrada said. “So we hope to see a big group of parents and caregivers at our event so that we can maybe help prevent a trip to the ER with some helpful safety tips.”
Thursday’s event will also provide a recap of the children’s hospital’s first year in business. It is being held in the atrium of the children’s hospital on the Williamson Medical Center campus from 11 a.m. to noon. This event is free and open to the public, but will fill up, so we ask that you RSVP to [email protected] so we can hold your spot. Lunch will be provided.
