Happy Tales Humane Poker Fund Raiser

We all know that animals and play add to a healthy lifestyle. The Club Canine of Nashville is mixing the two with their Dogs & Poker event benefiting Happy Tales Humane.

Saturday, February 23 at Dave & Buster’s in Opry Mills, the 2nd Annual Dogs & Poker Charity Event will unfold. Last year saw around 100 people come together and over $4,800 was raised for Happy Tales Humane.

In the early 1900s C. M. Coolidge was commissioned by an advertising agency to help sell cigars. He created a series of 16 oil paintings, all featuring anthropomorphized dogs, nine of which have dogs seated around a card table. These nine paintings have forever linked dogs with poker in the minds of Americans.“We are using the fusion of “Man’s best friend” and the ever growing popularity of Poker to help raise money for a great cause,” says their website.
