Handy Hardware Needs Your Help to Win Grant

The local hardware store on Columbia Avenue in Franklin is in the running for a grant from the Chase Mission Main St. grant program.

The grant from Chase is for $100,000 that will be put towards restoring some of the “historic touches” of the building, including a tin ceiling and hardwood floors. The grant will also help install some new lighting.

Handy Hardware sells hardware, paint, tools, gifts, cookware and their own line of essential oil-based bath and body products in an old-time general store atmosphere. The locally owned store has been around since 1971.
