Girls Soccer Playoffs In Full Swing

As the girls soccer postseason reaches full swing, let’s take a look at local programs are doing in the playoffs:

Division II East/Middle Region

  • In the first round of the Division II-AA state tournament, Brentwood Academy dropped their match with Harpeth Hall 2-1.
  • Franklin Road Academy finished 3rd in the Division II East/Middle Regional tournament, topping Mt. Juliet Christian 7-0, losing to Knoxville Webb 1-0, and beating University School of Nashville 3-1.
  • Father Ryan topped rival Pope John Paul II 2-1 in the first round of the Division II-AA state tournament.
  • BGA won the Division II East/Middle regional title, topping DCA 4-1, University School of Nashville 1-0, and Knoxville Webb 2-1.

Class AAA District 11

  • Independence advanced in the Region 6 tournament, topping Cane Ridge 6-1. The Lady Eagles will have another shot at Brentwood for the Region 6 crown.
  • Franklin lost in the District 11 championship game to Brentwood 2-0.
  • Brentwood won the District 11 championship, topping Franklin in the title game 2-0. In the Region 6 tournament, the Bruins topped Hillsboro 7-0. Brentwood will face Independence for the Region 6 crown.

Class A/AA District 11

  • Fairview won the District 11 championship, topping Richland 2-1. The Yellow Jackets fell in the Region 6 semifinals to Page 2-1.

Class A/AA District 12

  • CPA won the District 12 championship over Page 2-1, then topped Richland 7-0 in the Region 6 semifinals. The Lions will face Page for the Region 6 championship.
  • Page lost the District 12 championship game to CPA 2-1. In the regional semifinals, the Patriots topped Fairview 2-1 and will face the Lions once again in the regional finals.
