Gift Ideas for Pets

If you want to get your furry friend something special this holiday season, there are some great, festive gifts you can find for them around town in some local pet stores. From jingle bell collars to Santa hats you can find a number of ways to get your pets in the holiday spirit and give them gifts that they will love.

HomeTown Pet, the recently opened pet supply store from Tractor Supply Co., not only has some cute holiday plush toys, but they have also put together stockings full of treats and toys for under $20. You can also stuff a stocking yourself to make sure your pet has all you want to give them. HomeTown Pet has locations in Franklin at 1203 Murfreesboro Rd., and in Fairview at 7036 City Center Way.

Another good place to do some holiday shopping for your pets (at prices up to 30 percent off) is the Pet Supermarket  in Cool Springs. There are lots of holiday treats, both fresh and pre-packaged, including oversized rawhide bones which are great for large breed dogs, or some smaller red and green chew sticks for smaller breeds at prices ranging from $1- $15. Here the stockings come with up to eight chew toys for dogs, which is great for families with multiple dogs, and the stockings cost anywhere from $6-$14, and they even have holiday scented shampoos and colognes including scents of gingerbread, candy cane and sugar cookie, as well as dog-shaped ornaments for the Christmas tree. Plush holiday hedgehogs are also available for $8, and of course there are plenty of holiday outfits to dress your pets properly for your holiday get together.
