After losing four straight games by a combined 15 points to start their season, the Grace Christian Academy Lions got in the win column Friday.

The Richland Raiders (1-4, 0-3) traveled to GCA (1-4, 1-3) and left with their fourth loss in a row after a 40-7 Lions’ victory.

It wasn’t only GCA’s first win of the season, but it was also its first Region 4-A win. The Lions now sit two games back in the region standings of fourth place, which would get them a postseason berth.

GCA travels to region leader Columbia Academy (4-0, 4-0) next Friday. The Bulldogs handled the Lions 52-7 last season and have won 18-straight region or district games dating back to 2013. They were in District 11-A in 2013 and 2014 before TSSAA realignment before last season.
