Hillsboro Road, in front of Franklin High School, was closed Tuesday morning while crews fixed a temporary gas leak. Franklin TOC (Traffic Operations Center) tweeted around 9:30am Tuesday morning regarding the leak.
A 2-inch gas pipeline was accidentally clipped during regular roadwork. Crews were out in a bypass while they fixed the damaged pipe.
The road was closed from Granville Road to Mack Hatcher Parkway.
The Franklin Fire Department responded and was on the scene to maintain safety and in case of fire and crews from Atmos Energy worked to fix the leak.
