Free Car Inspection Available in Spring Hill

car inspection

In celebration of Spring Car Care Month in May, the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Hohenwald’s Automotive Service Technology Northfield Campus and the Spring Hill Public Library will perform free car inspections from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday May 3, 2017, at Spring Hill Public Library, 144 Kedron Parkway.

Stop by and let the students from the TCAT Automotive Program identify opportunities for you to improve your vehicle’s gas mileage, performance, increased safety, and reduce emissions.

Three out of four cars (77 percent) on the road today need some type of maintenance or service, according to the Car Care Council. The inspection will include checking fluid levels (where possible), batteries for corrosion and terminal tightness, lights, tire condition and proper inflation, the condition of belts and hoses, and scan tool usage for retrieving diagnostic trouble codes for vehicles with “Service Engine” light illumination.

After the inspection is complete, students will review the findings and suggest needed repairs to be completed at a local repair shop of the customer’s choosing. Students will inspect only. No repairs or maintenance will be performed.

This free inspection will be offered to the public for customer awareness only. A free Manufacturers Suggested Maintenance Schedule will be provided upon request where available.

Visit www.carcare.org for information on proper vehicle maintenance. In case of inclement weather, May 4 will be the makeup date
