The public is invited to attend a free seminar about Alzheimer’s Disease at Fourth Avenue Church in its facility at 117 4th Ave. N., Franklin, TN on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 7 – 9 p.m.

Dr. Patrick Mead, Senior Teaching Minister at Fourth Avenue, will lead the seminar, titled, “Aging and Alzheimer’s: What You Need to Know.” Dr. Mead has two doctorates in the fields of neuroscience and psychology and has been teaching medical professionals in universities and hospitals for more than 20 years. He is well-versed in the field as he teaches Continuing Medical Unit courses on the topic of dementia, not only to physicians and nurses, but also to social workers, nursing home administrators and community planners.

The program will be geared to non-professionals and will be informational and practical—even fun. The church will not be selling anything or asking for or accepting donations at this event. Church leaders are simply offering the seminar as an act of love to the community. Care-givers will also learn of a free ministry in the area that serves them and offers a place to rest and heal from time-to-time.
